Line a room with polythene and add a note

Choose independent wall, floor and ceiling lining, hide room names and add editable arrow notes.

Why this can happen

Room lining and label visibility can be changed independently without replacing the building.

What to do

  1. Select a closed room and open Selected → Polythene lining. Choose inside walls, floor and ceiling separately. Set Lining height or use Follow room height.
  2. Chat understands requests such as “line Kitchen walls and floor with poly” and “add the ceiling too at 2.2 m”. Existing surfaces stay unchanged unless named. The ceiling follows the inside outline and avoids physical wall bodies at its height.
  3. Floor lining has a light plan hatch; wall lining uses dashed inside lines. Room ceiling film appears only in 3D. Show polythene ceiling in 3D hides the view without removing it. Chat can also “hide the poly ceiling in Kitchen”.
  4. To hide only a room name, use its label visibility checkbox or ask Chat “hide the Kitchen label”. Add a native note with “add a note beside Kitchen saying Work area, with an arrow to it”. It uses the drawing label style. Select the note to edit its text and style. Moving or rotating a note alone keeps its arrow target fixed; drag the tip in 2D to change it. Group moves carry complete notes and arrows.

Check before you continue

Straight physical room boundaries are required for full lining. Older room shapes retain their separate Floor finish control. Lining does not design support or seal openings; inspect stairs, openings, fixings and penetrations separately. Notes are annotations, not verified measurements.
