Trace enclosures over an existing floor plan
On any paid plan, upload a floor-plan image and set its scale by resizing it or calibrating a known distance. Trace manually, or try assisted wall and opening detection (Preview) on clear plans with horizontal and vertical walls. Review suggested windows, door types and swings before creating editable geometry. The image can also appear beneath the 3D model as a reference.

No. AsbestoPlan runs entirely in your browser with its own asbestos-specific 2D symbols and 3D models. You do not need to buy or install separate general-purpose drawing or 3D software.
Yes. Drag library assets into either the 2D plan or the 3D scene. On a touch screen, use the drag handle on the asset card. Clicking an asset places it near the centre of the active view; you can then adjust its position and dimensions.
Yes, on any paid plan (One Project Pass, Business, Team and Company). Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP floor plan, set its real-world dimensions or calibrate a known distance, then draw over it. The backdrop has opacity, position and lock controls; uploading an image does not automatically create walls.
Customer uploads of custom symbols or 3D models are not currently available. You can use the built-in library and its object controls; paid plans also support floor-plan backdrops and company logo uploads.
Yes. The 2D plan and 3D enclosure view share the same project model. Move an item in 2D and it updates in 3D. Move it in 3D and the 2D plan updates too.
Yes. Polythene, walls, zones, routes, frames and equipment can all be recoloured per object. Each placed item stays independent — recolouring one airlock does not affect any other.
Changes save automatically after you stop editing while connected. Check the save indicator before closing the editor; it also reports saving errors. You can save manually and use undo and redo during your editing session.
Every plan can export the 2D plan and 3D view as PNG or JPG. PNG supports transparency; JPG uses a solid background. Free Preview exports carry a watermark. The One Project Pass, Business, Team and Company add clean high-resolution exports, PDF and 2D SVG, including scale-accurate 2D PDF printing. A scene key and title block can be included. A composed report with an item schedule is planned.
Room spans, area and perimeter use the inside wall faces and each wall’s modelled thickness. Irregular rooms show maximum internal spans. Standalone walls show centreline lengths, including arc length for curved walls. Include finishes in the wall thickness and check the model against site measurements before issuing a drawing.
On a paid plan, choose a numeric scale for a 2D PDF and print it at actual size (100%), without fit-to-page scaling. Check the exported scale and a known dimension. PNG/JPG, 3D views and fit-to-page exports are not to scale. Accuracy depends on the dimensions and calibration entered into the project.
AsbestoPlan produces drawings for your existing project documents. RAMS generation is currently in internal development and is not available to customers. The public product is the drawing and visual planning editor.
No. AsbestoPlan is not HSE-approved or compliance certified. Final enclosure design and statutory duties remain with competent asbestos professionals.
You can use AsbestoPlan to produce enclosure visuals that support documentation for licensed and non-licensed work alike. It is a planning and communication tool, not a substitute for the formal duties around licensed work — notification, risk assessment, method statements and plans of work remain with the competent person and, where required, the licensed contractor.
Live drawings belong to their creator and are protected by account access controls. Paid subscriptions can share read-only snapshots by link; Team and Company also provide workspace export history. Export records use private storage and short-lived download links. Dashboard → Account & privacy lets you download account records as JSON or delete your account; download drawing files separately before deletion.
Eligible customers can start one 14-day Business or Team trial. A card is required at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically becomes paid and renews at the selected monthly or annual price. If paid access ends and no other paid entitlement applies, your account returns to Free Preview: saved projects remain, new exports are watermarked and the free project limit applies. Download any clean exports you need before paid access ends.
Yes. Use Dashboard → Billing to manage your subscription through Stripe. Cancellation stops future renewals; paid access continues until the end of the current monthly or annual billing period. Cancellation does not automatically refund an annual payment.
Yes. Business includes 3 users, Team includes 10 and Company is custom. The workspace owner invites colleagues by email from Dashboard → Team and sets roles (owner / admin / member). Shared company templates keep new drawings consistent. Live CAD projects stay with the person who created them — Team and Company add workspace-wide export and version history, not live co-editing. Company adds branches/departments with advanced admin controls.
Title blocks are available on every plan. Adding your company logo requires the One Project Pass, Business, Team or Company.
The dashboard and editor have layouts for phones and tablets, including touch controls and collapsible panels. A larger screen with a mouse or trackpad is best for detailed drawing. Complex 3D scenes also depend on your device’s graphics performance.
Yes. Two- and three-stage airlocks and baglocks offer straight, left-turn and right-turn layouts. Choose the layout in the selected object’s controls; the 2D symbol and 3D model use the same configuration. Check chamber dimensions against your site requirements.
