Floor-plan detection misses doors, windows or stairs

Review the suggested geometry and complete ambiguous symbols manually.

Why this can happen

Faint lines, unusual symbols and low-resolution images can make an opening look like a gap or wall.

What to do

  1. Check the image scale first, then run Detect walls, openings & stairs.
  2. Review the wall runs and recognised opening candidates before building. Keep only the candidates you want.
  3. Check opening type, width, door swing, window sill height and garage operation. For stairs, check footprint, rise, base elevation and upward direction.
  4. Complete missed or unusual openings with the normal editor tools, and inspect the result in 2D and 3D.

Check before you continue

Detection is a starting point, not a guaranteed survey. Landings, winders and unusual glazing need manual completion. Detection does not automatically add rooms, roofs, floors, ceilings or sheeting.
