Move around a drawing without changing it
Pan, zoom and orbit to inspect your plan in 2D and 3D without editing objects.
Why this can happen
Moving the view is separate from moving a selected object. Camera movement and selection do not edit drawing geometry or require a new save.
What to do
- In 2D, drag empty canvas to pan. Choose the Hand tool (H on a keyboard) to pan even when starting over objects. On mobile, open Tools to choose the Hand tool.
- Scroll pans in 2D by default. Pinch, or hold Ctrl/Command while scrolling, to zoom. Desktop users can also use Zoom in, Zoom out and Fit plan to screen in the toolbar; compact screens provide additional controls under More.
- In 3D, use Select and drag to orbit. Shift+drag or right-drag pans; scrolling or pinching zooms. Avoid object handles when inspecting the view.
- Tap or click empty canvas to clear a selection. Dragging a selected object or its handles edits the drawing; choose Undo if that happens accidentally.
- Navigation alone should leave the drawing Saved. A real edit made just before navigating may still be finishing its normal autosave. Wait for Saved before leaving after edits.
Check before you continue
Touch gestures depend on the device and browser. These controls move the view; they do not calibrate a floorplan or change its scale. Use the floorplan scale controls for calibration.
