Build a full scaffold soffit enclosure

Build the scaffold and enclosure around the house, showing continuous corners, stair access, chamber positions and the external extraction arrangement.

0:00Build a full scaffold-level soffit enclosure

Let's take the full-house soffit enclosure up to scaffold level. We'll set the heights, build the surrounding deck runs, add access platforms and stairs, then align the routes. This walkthrough uses a fictional planning model.

0:151. Set the deck and enclosure heights

Start with a saved copy of the full-perimeter enclosure. Set the building height for your example, then raise each enclosure frame, membrane and chamber to the working deck level. Here the deck is four metres above ground. Short entrance headers sit two metres above that level.

0:332. Draw the first scaffold run

Choose Scaffold, then Run, and drag along the building in plan view. Set the lift heights and number of lifts, then choose the deck boards. This example uses two two-metre lifts and six boards. The scaffold model is a visual planning aid, not a structural design.

0:523. Size and rotate the perimeter runs

Use Run length, position and rotation to fit the scaffold to each side. Duplicate the run and update those values for the next side. Split the access sides into shorter sections so the main run's outer rails do not cross the airlock or baglock entrances.

1:094. Add the access platforms

Create an approach platform beneath each three-stage chamber assembly. Extend each platform beyond the clean entrance so there is space to approach from the stairs. Review the building side and run-end controls at every junction. Use open ends only where another access component connects.

1:285. Position the stair towers

Choose Stair Tower in Assets, then enter its width, depth and height. Rotate and position it so the top landing meets the platform. This example has a separate tower for each approach. These are generic stair models; select the actual system and access details from the scaffold design.

1:476. Support the external NPU

At the far end, a separate platform supports the NPU. The unit remains outside the enclosure, while its front intake meets the connected membrane opening. Its discharge side faces the planned duct route.

2:017. Match the duct and route elevations

Use the route point controls to set the duct centre height to the NPU outlet. Raise the transit and waste route points onto their approach platforms. Length measurements follow the drawn centreline. Show the measurements when they help explain the drawing, or hide them for a clearer presentation.

2:208. Review the full scaffold arrangement

Review the enclosure from both the access end and the NPU end. Check the drawing's fascia returns, deck positions and connections, then save this layout separately. Use it to communicate your plan alongside the project-specific enclosure and scaffold specifications.
