Clearer site briefing visuals for asbestos removal teams

Toolbox talks and site briefings work best when operatives can see the layout before build. Pair a 2D plan with a matching 3D visual so entry points, routes and equipment are obvious.

One example drawing, two views

These editor captures show the same illustrative room, airlock, baglock, NPU and van in 2D and 3D. Use the plan to check positions, then the model to explain the layout.

For a separate fictional workshop example, inspect the exported sheet, title block and key, or open the sample 1:100 PDF. Print that PDF at actual size (100%). These examples demonstrate the software; they are not site designs or evidence of compliance.

Briefing checklist

  • Show enclosure boundary relative to room access
  • Highlight airlock sequence
  • Mark NPU and monitoring points
  • Walk waste route from work area to skip
  • Include scene key for unfamiliar symbols

Worked example: explain the same room in two views

Use the fictional room captures above to practise a briefing. Start with the 2D view and identify the room, airlock, baglock and NPU using the key. Switch to the matching 3D view to show how those same objects sit together. Keep the same names in both views.

Choose a camera angle that leaves the important items visible. If a foreground wall or roof obscures the arrangement, change the view or visibility settings deliberately and explain what has been hidden. A perspective view helps explain the layout; it is not a scale drawing.

Prepare the file for its audience

Check labels and line styles at the size the audience will actually see. Avoid relying on colour alone to distinguish routes. A close-up can explain a crowded area alongside an overview of the whole layout.

Before the briefing, compare the drawing revision with the current written pack. If the arrangement changes, export new visuals and replace the old attachments. The drawing supports the briefing and competent review; it does not establish that the proposed controls are adequate.
