Add and control custom dimensions
Place an exact two-point dimension, move its label clear of the drawing and choose which measurements appear in the view and export.
Before you start: Open a drawing with a room or wall endpoints to measure.

0:00Place a two-point dimension
Use the Dimension tool on the left to add a permanent measurement. Click the first point, then the second. With snapping on, aim at the wall endpoints. Here, the placed line measures two thousand six hundred millimetres between the two points. It is separate from the room’s automatic internal measurements.
0:17Move the dimension clear
Select the dimension and open its controls on the right. Extension offset moves the dimension line away from its measured points without changing the distance. This example uses six hundred and fifty millimetres to keep the line clear. Flip to other side moves it across to the opposite side.
0:35Keep custom dimensions while hiding automatic ones
Open More and turn off Auto dimensions when you want a simpler drawing. The automatic room and asset sizes disappear, but the custom dimension stays. Names and written labels are controlled separately by Labels. Switch Auto dimensions back on whenever you need those sizes again.
0:54Hide one placed dimension
Select this dimension and use Visible under Object state to hide just this line. The button changes to Hidden. The measurement is still in the project. While it remains selected, click Hidden to show it again. This lets you choose which custom measurements your readers see.

Here is the actual exported image after restoring the custom line and switching off automatic dimensions and labels. The two thousand six hundred millimetre measurement remains on the white background. Export your own drawing and review that the measurements shown are the ones you intend to share.
