0:00Draw and name your room
Start in two D. Open Structure on the left, then choose Room. Click and drag across the canvas to draw a rectangle. Release to create the room. Select it and type a name in the Label box. Our example is called Training room.
0:18Choose the wall construction
Open Wall build-up. Leave Apply changes to on All walls, then choose the construction that represents your room. Here we choose Brick, which sets the wall thickness to two hundred and twenty-five millimetres. You can change an individual wall in the separate wall-types lesson.
0:37Set the wall height
Open Position and size. Enter your wall height in millimetres and press Tab. Our demonstration uses two thousand six hundred millimetres. Use the dimensions from your own survey when preparing a real drawing.
0:50Read the internal measurements
Room measurements shows the clear space inside the walls. The internal spans, area and perimeter account for the wall thicknesses you have modelled. Here, the internal area is six point zero seven square metres.
1:03Explore the room in 3D
Switch to three D to see the same room as a model. Open View options and use the roof icon beside Ground to see inside. The roof is hidden for this cutaway view. We have also hidden the label for a clearer look. Your room is ready for doors, windows and the rest of your layout.
